San Antonio’s luxury lineup is getting a little louder: AMIRI is bringing its California-cool, rock-and-roll aesthetic to The Shops at La Cantera, taking over roughly 2,200 square feet in the mall’s luxury corridor. For Northwest Side shoppers, that means the celebrity-favored label’s signature pieces will soon be much closer than an online cart.
According to the Houston Chronicle, AMIRI is slated to occupy a 2,203-square-foot space at 15900 La Cantera Pkwy, with the brand’s arrival first flagged in a CultureMap report. The Chronicle notes that developers estimate roughly $450,000 for the build-out, and construction could wrap up as soon as this fall. The retailer has not yet announced an official opening date, so fans will have to keep an eye out for that first look inside.
Where AMIRI Is Expanding In Texas
State permit filings show that AMIRI has more Texas projects in the works, including new spaces at San Marcos Premium Outlets and at Dallas' NorthPark Center. Those plans appear in filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the San Marcos location and in a separate Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation record tied to NorthPark Center. The San Marcos filing lists about 2,462 square feet for an interior renovation, while the NorthPark record details a larger, earlier fit-out under the AMIRI name.
La Cantera's Upscale Runway
La Cantera has been steadily turning up the luxe factor this year. Public filings and new tenant rollouts have brought brands such as Brilliant Earth, Rothy’s and Dolce & Gabbana into the mix, according to reporting by MySanAntonio. The Shops at La Cantera, which recently marked its 20th anniversary, has been leaning into higher-end showrooms and remodels. That strategy helps pull in both regional shoppers and tourist traffic, and AMIRI’s arrival is set to stretch that luxury corridor even further, adding another name closely tied to celebrity style and high-end streetwear.
Founded by Mike Amiri, the label started with handcrafted stage pieces before moving into ready-to-wear in the mid-2010s and has since become a celebrity favorite, per the Houston Chronicle. For now, The Shops at La Cantera and AMIRI have not announced a ribbon-cutting. Shoppers, along with resale-market watchers, will be waiting to see whether the new boutique stocks the brand’s full collections or opts for a tighter lineup of accessories.
