MetroNational has snapped up The Moran CITYCENTRE, the luxury hotel that anchors Midway’s CityCentre mixed-use district in west Houston. The deal, announced Monday, closed for an undisclosed sum.

Houston Business Journal reports that MetroNational acquired the hotel from Midway, folding a high-end hospitality property into its growing local portfolio. The outlet also noted that the purchase price is not being made public.

In a May 4 release, MetroNational and its partners said the purchase expands the company’s hospitality footprint in west Houston, with Columbus-based investor Rockbridge providing financial backing for the transaction. Those statements were distributed via EIN Presswire.

CityCentre consolidation continues

The Moran recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation under Midway in 2024–25, refreshing guest rooms, meeting spaces and public areas as part of a broader upgrade of the walkable CityCentre district. Midway described a phased overhaul that kept the hotel operating throughout construction, outlining the scope of the work on its site at Midway.

MetroNational has been busy across the Memorial and CityCentre corridor in recent months, adding retail and other assets to its Memorial-area holdings as it builds scale in the submarket. That earlier activity is part of why the firm says The Moran fits into a longer-term neighborhood strategy. Recent transaction summaries are available in the company’s newsroom at MetroNational.

What comes next

The joint announcement stuck to big-picture strategy and did not provide a detailed timeline for operational changes, rebranding, or additional renovations. For now, The Moran’s contact page still lists the property at 800 Sorella Court in CityCentre, and the hotel remains open for bookings while ownership transition details are worked out, according to The Moran.
