Rochelle Street has seen recent gunfire
The 2800 block where Monday's shooting unfolded has already drawn police attention this month. On May 13, a bullet tore into a bedroom at the Rochelle Manor complex during a drive-by that targeted three juveniles, according to bedroom bullet shocks east Durham.
The Durham Police Department report also notes prior investigations on Rochelle Street in recent years, a backdrop that helps explain why detectives are again canvassing neighbors and reviewing nearby video whenever shots are fired.
