Queen Creek’s building boom is about to pick up a few more residents, this time of the 55-plus variety. Mojave Sage, a 117-residence luxury senior living community from Austin-based developer Investcor, is set to break ground in June directly across from the Encanterra Golf Course, according to a company press release carried by Yield PRO.

The project is designed with both assisted living and memory care neighborhoods and will offer a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Investcor says the idea is to blend on-site care with hospitality-style perks, while putting residents close to both recreation and medical services as Queen Creek’s population and amenities keep surging.

“Mojave Sage reflects our continued focus on delivering high-quality senior living communities in markets where demand is strong and growing,” Investcor Principal Partner Tylere Brennan said in the release. The company plans to market the community to seniors in Queen Creek and the San Tan Valley.

What residents will find

The community’s 117 residences are planned in a range of layouts, with assisted living and memory care options under the same roof. Industry reporting on the project, including coverage from Seniors Housing Business, notes that Mojave Sage is expected to feature 24-hour nursing care and an anytime-dining program so residents are not locked into rigid mealtimes.

Other planned amenities read like a resort checklist: a full-service beauty salon, fitness and wellness center, movie room, private outdoor courtyards, gardening programs, a dog park, an on-site country store and a full-time driving service to help residents get around town.

Location and local context

Mojave Sage is planned directly across from the Encanterra Golf Course and less than a mile from Banner Ironwood Medical Center, putting residents within quick reach of hospital care and fairways alike. Developers have also pointed out that the site sits a short drive from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, which they say should make travel easier for visiting family and for staff.

Queen Creek has added nearly 30,000 residents since 2020, an increase of almost 49 percent that has helped draw new restaurants and housing projects into the area, according to Axios Phoenix. Mojave Sage is one more sign that the boom is not slowing down, especially for age-targeted housing.

Timeline and who’s building

Project materials list Komo Architecture as the designer and KBE Building Corporation as general contractor, with construction expected to begin by June, per reporting from REBusinessOnline. Investcor has not yet released a target completion date.
