Hawaiian Bros has officially landed in Norman, opening its newest location Tuesday with a midmorning grand-opening celebration that put freebies front and center. The restaurant at 750 Asp Ave kicked things off at 11 a.m., with the first 100 guests scoring a free T-shirt and a Hawaiian Bros gift card worth between $25 and $500 with purchase. One attendee was also set to walk away with Hawaiian Bros meals for a year.
Ohana Restaurant Group, the local franchisee running the new spot, organized the giveaways and pitched the opening as a community moment. As reported by The Journal Record, owner Zach Fugate said the team was "inspired to spread the Aloha Spirit" as it welcomed Norman residents to the 'Ohana. Staff on site handled the limited-quantity prizes on a first-come, first-served basis.
Where To Find It
The Norman outpost lists its address as 750 Asp Ave and offers dine-in, drive-thru, pickup and delivery, along with late-night weekend hours, according to the brand's official location page. Hawaiian Bros notes the store opens at 11 a.m. most days and provides online ordering and catering options for nearby customers. On the menu: island-style plate lunches built around grilled chicken or pork glazed in signature sauces, with rice, macaroni salad and Dole soft-serve for dessert.
Local Franchise And Brand Growth
The Norman debut is part of a broader expansion push as the chain leans on franchise partners to break into new markets. QSR Magazine reported the store will be operated by Ohana Restaurant Group, which has been developing multiple units in the region. Hawaiian Bros has been using franchising to grow beyond its Missouri roots and into Midwestern and Southeastern markets.
Giveaways Can Pack Them In
Big promotions are not new for the chain. Hawaiian Bros recently tweaked a national Royals-linked giveaway after restaurants were overwhelmed, according to KMBC. Customers chasing limited freebies should expect lines and limited quantities on opening days, and organizers at the Norman location distributed prizes with purchase while supplies lasted. The celebration followed the typical grand-opening playbook of limited-run shirts and gift-card drops to reward early visitors, per local coverage.
