
A man was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle crash in North Austin, according to Austin police. Officers responded around 4:46 a.m. to the 9000 block of East Drive, where Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin Fire Department crews tried to save the driver, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

As reported by CBS Austin, police have not released the driver’s identity and said the wreck is being investigated as Austin’s 32nd fatal crash of 2026. Detectives have described the case as an active investigation and are canvassing the area for witnesses and additional evidence.
