Paw Paw is about to get a lot louder. Warner Vineyards has rolled out a permanent new stage and launched an expanded summer concert season over Memorial Day weekend, with more than 50 shows already on the books and a target of roughly 60 by the time the season wraps.
The third-generation family winery says the upgrades will let it bring in larger national and tribute acts while giving fans more reliable views and amenities than the pop-up tents it relied on in previous years.
The new structure is no small backyard platform. The stage stretches 50 feet across, runs 32 feet deep, and sits about 6 feet off the ground. The roof will rise 24 feet above the platform when finishing work is complete. For now, a temporary cover is in place through June 3 while crews wrap up construction. Behind the stage, the venue has lined up 14 customized 20-foot shipping containers, stacked to form seven enclosed mini-suites with elevated views. Along the river, a 180-by-20-foot viewing deck is being added to give even more spectators a clear line of sight.
The containers are slated to house air-conditioned restrooms, multiple food and beverage windows, a kitchen, and a merchandise window. Warner has already booked 56 shows and is working to fill a few remaining dates to land near 60 this season, according to MLive.
Design Focused On Comfort And Consistency
Warner says the stacked containers and permanent stage are designed to replace the temporary tents that used to be built for each show and to finally give concertgoers consistent infrastructure instead of a different setup every weekend.
The full concert calendar, seating options, and amenities are laid out by Warner Vineyards, which notes the Paw Paw amphitheater hosts dozens of shows each season with reserved tables, lawn seating, food vendors, and VIP areas.
Holiday Weekend Kickoff And Early Headliners
The new build got its first workout over Memorial Day weekend. Friday’s opener brings a Beach Boys tribute with Pet Sounds Live, with the date listed by Eventim.
Saturday shifts gears to Hip Hop Recall, a bill featuring Paul Wall, Yung Joc, and Roscoe Dash, according to JamBase. Sunday closes out the long weekend with The Fortunate Sons, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute act, as listed by Concerts50.
Later in the season, the schedule features Charley Crockett on June 27 and Ted Nugent on July 11, part of the stepped-up push to bring bigger names to the riverside venue.
Noise Fears, Parking Headaches And Village Scrutiny
Not everyone is raising a glass to the growth. Neighbors and some village trustees have flagged noise and parking issues in past seasons, and Warner’s expansion plans went under the microscope at Village of Paw Paw meetings earlier this year.
Meeting records from the Village of Paw Paw show officials talking through community complaints and prior upgrades that did not have permits. Local coverage highlighted residents’ concerns about sound levels and traffic when the latest proposal was filed, as reported by WOOD.
Organizers maintain the revamped setup will help them host a broader mix of national and regional acts while improving the experience for paying customers. Tickets, table packages, and parking details are posted on the venue’s event listings and major ticketing platforms. Warner Vineyards says more dates will be added as summer rolls on.
