Detroit police are asking Jefferson Chalmers residents to study newly released photos of two people accused of breaking into an unoccupied home on the city’s east side this afternoon and walking off with a load of tools.
The burglary happened in the 14500 block of Scripps Street, where investigators say a man and a woman slipped into the house through a window at about 3:30 p.m. and took multiple tools before taking off. Detectives say the pair left in a gray Nissan Rogue with no license plate and plastic covering the rear window, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Police released clear descriptions along with the photos: the man is described as Black with short black hair and a mustache, wearing a brown T-shirt, brown shorts, and blue, white, and neon-colored shoes. The woman was wearing a matching blue top and pants with white shoes. The city is offering a $1,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest, and anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police 5th Precinct at 313-596-5540 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
