Slidell police are canvassing neighborhoods around Ducksworth Park as they search for four young men accused of robbing and beating a man there Monday, Interim Chief Daniel Seuzeneau said. Officers say the victim met the group at the park, where he was attacked, robbed and assaulted before the suspects bolted on foot. Authorities described the suspects as possibly in their late teens or early 20s and said they were last seen heading toward the nearby Lincoln Park subdivision. The department says the investigation remains active, with detectives working neighborhood leads.
Police description and search
In a brief Facebook reel, Seuzeneau said officers were looking for "four Black males, possibly in their late teens or early 20s" and that one suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie while another wore a white tank top, per the Slidell Police Department. He told viewers the group was last seen heading toward the Lincoln Park subdivision and asked anyone with information to call Slidell police at 985-643-3131 or Crime Stoppers at 504-822-1111. The department said tips may be submitted anonymously and that callers could be eligible for a cash reward. Officers are going door to door and tracking down leads from neighborhood security footage.
How investigators say it unfolded
Investigators told reporters they believe the victim was lured to the park after arranging a meeting through a smartphone app and was ambushed once he arrived, according to reporting by WDSU. The station reported that drones and K-9 teams were deployed during the initial search and that officers are reviewing surveillance and doorbell camera footage as part of an active investigation. No arrests had been announced as of Monday night, and detectives continue to pursue leads in the surrounding neighborhoods.
How residents can help
The City of Slidell's website lists ways to submit tips online or contact the department directly, including a tip portal for anonymous leads, per the City of Slidell. For immediate emergencies, residents are urged to dial 911. For non-emergency police matters, the number is 985-643-3131. Officials asked neighbors not to approach suspected offenders and to preserve any video or images so investigators can review them.
