Violence Has Hit Bushwick Hard This Spring
The killing is the latest in a string of brutal incidents rattling Bushwick this spring. On May 2, a pistol-whipping and burst of gunfire erupted inside a neighborhood apartment building. And in April, a stray bullet killed a 7-month-old in the area, a tragedy that drew citywide outrage, as reported by CBS New York.
Police Push for Tips, Video and Witnesses
Investigators are urging anyone with information about Sunday’s stabbing to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or to submit an anonymous tip online, according to the NYPD. Detectives from the local precinct are also going door to door along Cooper Street, looking for surveillance cameras and neighbors who might have seen or heard something.
Police have not released a description of any suspect and have not yet publicly identified the victim. The investigation remains active, and authorities say more details will be shared as they are confirmed, per News12 New York.
