
A late-night burst of gunfire in Boyle Heights ended with a man believed to be in his 30s found shot to death inside an SUV near Fourth and Mott streets on Sunday. Responding officers arrived to find the vehicle with one door open and the victim inside, where he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released any information about a possible suspect.
According to MyNewsLA, officers were called out around 9:45 p.m. on reports of shots fired and discovered the man inside the SUV with a gunshot wound. The outlet reports that video from the scene showed a silver SUV. A Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman told the publication there was no suspect information available.

The shooting comes amid a recent string of violent incidents in the neighborhood, including a separate officer-involved confrontation on Glenn Avenue earlier this month, as reported by Hoodline. Boyle Heights falls under the LAPD’s Hollenbeck Division, which regularly handles investigations into local shootings and violent crimes, according to the Los Angeles Times.
