
On Sunday morning, a drive on Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill turned deadly when a car left the roadway, hit a utility pole, and killed the driver, authorities said. Two passengers managed to get out of the wrecked vehicle, while emergency crews pronounced the driver dead at the scene as the California Highway Patrol opened an investigation.

The Santa Clara County Fire Department pronounced the driver dead at the scene, and two passengers were able to exit the vehicle after the crash.
