A Bethlehem Township man will spend the rest of his life in prison after admitting he brutally killed his wife inside their home, more than a year after she was found dead during a welfare check in March 2025, authorities said.
Frank pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on June 10 before Northampton County Judge Brian J. Panella, according to Lehigh Daily. The plea brought closure to a case that started when Bethlehem Township police were called to the 2100 block of 3rd Street on March 11, 2025, to conduct a welfare check.
Officers used a ladder to reach a second-floor window and were met there by Frank, who told them, "My wife is dead in the bathtub," CBS News Philadelphia reported. Inside, police found Deborah Glaser in the tub with multiple puncture wounds, and they recovered knives, razor blades, box cutters and a mallet from the bathroom, according to the district attorney’s account.
Investigators Describe a ‘Gruesome’ Scene
Prosecutors said Frank admitted using a steak knife to cut Glaser’s throat, then driving a knife into her chest and heart with a hammer about 10 times "to ensure she was deceased," as reported by Law&Crime. Authorities described the bathroom as "gruesome" and credited evidence collected by Bethlehem Township police with helping to solidify the case.
Prosecution and Mandatory Life Term
As Lehigh Daily notes, First Assistant District Attorney Robert Eyer prosecuted the case. The district attorney’s office emphasized that a first-degree murder conviction in Pennsylvania carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison, and with Frank’s guilty plea, the court imposed life without the possibility of parole.
Quiet Block Shaken, Case Work Continues
Neighbors told reporters they were stunned that such a killing happened in what they considered a quiet, uneventful neighborhood, and officials said there was no record of prior police contact with Frank, Law&Crime reported. Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta again called the facts of the case "gruesome" and said investigators were still working through the evidence.
