Munck Wilson Mandala is planting a fresh flag in Fort Worth, tapping veteran in-house counsel Quintin Cassady to launch and run a new office that the firm says will anchor its life sciences, intellectual property, and technology work for North Texas. A longtime Fort Worth resident, Cassady will lead client development and recruiting as the firm tries to turn Cowtown into a go-to stop for high-end legal work in those sectors.
Firm plants flag in Cowtown
The firm’s offices page lists Fort Worth as “Opening Summer 2026,” with the new outpost joining multiple existing Texas offices plus locations in Los Angeles, South Florida, Orlando, and Seoul, according to Munck Wilson Mandala. The firm frames the Fort Worth move as part of a wider push to build out regional coverage for its innovation-focused clients.
Hiring push aims to scale quickly
In today's interview, Cassady told The Dallas Morning News he expects the Fort Worth office to reach six to eight partners by year-end, with a second hiring wave planned for early 2027. The growth plan is designed to give local companies direct access to sophisticated patent, regulatory, and transactional counsel without having to send as much work to Dallas or New York.
Cassady's life-sciences resume
Cassady spent more than 20 years at Galderma in senior legal and compliance roles and most recently served as general counsel at biotech company Modern Meadow, according to industry coverage notes. He also chairs the University of North Texas Health Science Center Foundation and has been a long-time civic leader in Fort Worth, according to Dallas Innovates.
Why Fort Worth matters to firms
Industry outlets have framed the hire as one piece of a broader trend of mid-size and boutique firms building local life sciences benches to support growing regional innovation hubs. Coverage in Managing IP flagged the Fort Worth launch as a strategic move to deepen Munck Wilson’s IP and life sciences capabilities in North Texas.
The Fort Worth office is slated to open this summer, and the firm says Cassady’s local ties and in-house background should help Munck Wilson win and keep business from area medical, biotech, and tech companies, according to Munck Wilson Mandala. If the firm hits its hiring goals, Fort Worth stands to gain a homegrown bench for complex litigation and transactional work that previously often traveled to bigger coastal markets.
