Pedestrian Safety In Dallas
Preliminary national data show pedestrian fatalities declined in early 2025, although Texas continues to record a high number of pedestrian deaths, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association.
Locally, the City of Dallas has been funding Vision Zero projects and approving traffic-signal and intersection upgrades that are intended to reduce deadly crossings, per city council documents. Those engineering and enforcement efforts are part of a broader push to bring down traffic deaths across the city.
Investigation Still Open
Dallas police told NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth that the crash remains under investigation and that no additional details were available. Authorities have not released any charges or the juvenile’s identity.
