A Sunday run of vehicle break-ins along FM 1960 came to an abrupt halt when Harris County Precinct 4 deputies spotted a man on a bicycle loaded with items that matched reports of stolen property, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Deputies identified the suspect as 34-year-old Kyle Richardson. He was taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail on burglary charges and outstanding warrants. Precinct officials said a fast response helped them recover the stolen property before it could be lost or sold, according to the constable’s office.
Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s office say the call initially came from Total Automotive and Offroad on FM 1960. Within minutes, they located a man at a nearby gas station, riding a bicycle stacked with items that matched descriptions of the stolen property. The agency identified that man as Richardson and said he was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Where the Stop Happened
The initial response was at Total Automotive and Offroad, a shop listed at 2121 FM 1960 Road in north Harris County. The business lists that address on its website, placing the incident along a busy commercial stretch of FM 1960 near several service stations and repair shops, according to Total Automotive and Offroad.
Charges and Warrants
According to the constable’s post, Richardson was charged with burglary of a building. Deputies also reported that he had open warrants, including for possession out of Pardons & Parole and burglary of a habitation out of Montgomery County. Bond had not yet been set out of the 230th District Court at the time of the post, and Constable Mark Herman wrote that “our deputies responded quickly, located the suspect within minutes, and recovered the stolen property before it could be lost or sold,” according to Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
A Pattern Along FM 1960
The FM 1960 corridor has been a focus for Precinct 4 patrols, with deputies recently highlighting multiple recoveries of stolen vehicles and related arrests in the area. The stretch has seen repeated stolen-vehicle activity, including a similar felony traffic stop along FM 1960 that was previously reported.
Prosecutors with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office are expected to review the evidence and determine formal charges. Upcoming court dates should appear on the county docket once the cases are filed. For now, investigators say the quick arrest kept the recovered items from being moved out of the area.
