Local context
Kitchen and electrical fires have recently displaced residents and prompted emergency rescues across Cleveland, a reminder of how fast flames can race through older buildings. On June 7, for instance, WOIO/Cleveland 19 reported an electrical fire that forced multiple people and pets from a three-family home while firefighters worked to bring that blaze under control.
It was not immediately clear what sparked the Grandpa’s Abe Kitchen fire, and early reports did not list any injuries. The cause remained under investigation, according to FOX 8.
