Hollywood Feed has trimmed its corporate ranks in Memphis, cutting 20 office positions in what executives framed to staff on June 1 as a “proactive restructuring.” The company told employees that retail workers were not part of the move.
Corporate staffers at the Memphis headquarters received notices about the cuts on June 1, according to The Daily Memphian, which reported that roughly 20 corporate jobs based in the city were being eliminated. The outlet noted that Hollywood Feed cast the decision as preparation for shifting market conditions, corporate-speak for bracing for whatever comes next.
Hollywood Feed, headquartered in Memphis, operates about 175 stores in 19 states and employs more than 1,300 people across the company, according to trade coverage and its own site. In February, the retailer lined up a $112 million senior secured credit facility led by Fortress Investment Group, a financing that Pet Age reported was intended to support the chain’s growth plans.
Tennessee job notices are rising
The Hollywood Feed cuts come as Tennessee employers continue to file a growing number of WARN notices. State filings and local coverage show that more than 4,000 Tennesseans have been affected by layoffs or closures so far in 2026. WSMV has tracked recent notices across the state, highlighting how companies in a wide range of industries are recalibrating staffing as the economic landscape shifts.
What this means for stores and customers
For now, the fallout appears limited to the back office. Hollywood Feed has said only corporate staff were affected, and its retail locations and same-day delivery services appear to be operating as usual. The company’s website still lists Memphis as its headquarters and continues to promote store openings and services, with no separate public announcement detailing the corporate cuts, according to Hollywood Feed.
The company has not publicly specified which corporate departments were hit, what severance might look like, or how quickly the restructuring will roll out. This story will be updated if Hollywood Feed releases additional information. In the meantime, state workforce offices and local job boards continue to list resources for affected workers as WARN notices move through the system.
