
A routine grocery run in Concourse Village ended in a trip to the hospital after a 76-year-old man was punched in the face inside a busy Bronx supermarket, police said.
The NYPD is looking for a man who allegedly attacked the shopper inside the Food Bazaar on East 161st Street on Thursday, leaving the victim with cuts to his face before running off on foot.
According to News12 Bronx, investigators say the suspect confronted the 76-year-old around 12:30 p.m., got into a verbal dispute with him, then struck him in the face, causing lacerations. Emergency Medical Services took the injured man to NYC Health/Lincoln Hospital for treatment. As of now, there have been no arrests.

The Food Bazaar at 238 East 161st Street is listed as a long-standing supermarket in the city’s NYC Food Metrics report, confirming the store’s location in Concourse Village.
NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln is the public hospital serving the area at 234 East 149th Street, and it is where the victim was taken after the assault.
