
A late Friday night shooting on a quiet northeast Columbus block left a male juvenile wounded but expected to fully recover, according to police.
Officers were called to the 3000 block of Chateau Morse Court at about 11:12 p.m., where they found the youth suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Police have not released his identity.
Columbus police say the investigation is ongoing, and as of now, no arrests have been announced.

According to WSYX/ABC6, officers responding to the area Friday night located the juvenile with a single gunshot wound and got him to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. Investigators have not released any details about a possible motive and have not named any suspects.
Where it happened
The shooting took place in the 3000 block of Chateau Morse Court, part of the Chateau Morse residential complex just off Morse Road in northeast Columbus, according to MapQuest. The area includes apartment-style units surrounded by small retail strips and neighborhood streets. Police have not said whether the gunfire erupted inside a unit, in a parking lot, or out on the street.
Context: recent violence in the city
The case comes on the heels of other violence in Columbus this week. As WOSU reported, police recently released the name of a man shot and killed by officers on the near east side on June 3, a shooting now under review by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
