Addison's Kaboom Town! returns on Friday, July 3, with the town's 4.4-square-mile footprint turning into one giant Independence Day party. The celebration packs in an airport airshow, live music, restaurant watch parties and a limited-capacity festival in the central park. This year's edition is drawing extra eyes as the nation marks its 250th anniversary.
The official festival runs 5 to 11 p.m. at Addison Circle Park (4970 Addison Circle), and entry to the park requires a ticket. General admission is $10 for ages 10 and up, $5 for children 2 to 9, and kids under 2 are free, according to Visit Addison. The town is also offering hotel packages that guarantee entry and include six general-admission tickets plus a commemorative picnic blanket. All tickets are final sale, and the park enforces security screening and a list of prohibited items for safety.
Why This Year Feels Bigger
Organizers and local outlets say demand is running hotter than usual, with America250 celebrations pulling in extra visitors and tickets expected to move quickly, as reported by CultureMap Dallas. Kaboom Town! has also earned national attention, landing on USA Today’s 10Best list this year, a ranking that has turned up in national coverage of fireworks festivals. Parade highlighted that listing.
Air Show, Fireworks And Family Programming
The night kicks off with the Addison Airport Airshow at 7:30 p.m., featuring skydivers, historic warbirds and aerobatic performers, with fireworks scheduled to launch at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to Visit Addison. Inside Addison Circle Park, the lineup includes live music, food vendors and the Uncle Sam Jam silent disco, which is expanding this year with more headsets and additional programming. The fireworks are designed to be visible across town, so many spectators skip the park entirely and watch from hotel pools, patios and official watch parties.
Plan Ahead: Hotels, Watch Parties And Traffic
With more than 200 restaurants and 23 hotels packed into 4.4 square miles, plenty of visitors choose hotel packages or restaurant watch parties to lock in a good vantage point. Cvent lists the town's 23 hotels, while local guides underscore the long dining roster. Spectators should plan on significant post-show traffic delays and are encouraged to stay put at their viewing spot until police reopen exit routes, CultureMap Dallas advises.
