
A 34-year-old man was stabbed late last night near the Gowen post office and rushed to a Greenville hospital in critical condition, authorities said. Michigan State Police say the incident does not appear to pose a danger to the wider community.
The stabbing happened around 11 p.m. on June 8 near the U.S. Postal Service on Oak Street in Gowen, Montcalm County, according to MLive. The victim suffered a stab wound to his left shoulder from a box-cutter-style knife and was taken to Corewell Health Greenville Hospital, the outlet reported. Corewell Health’s Greenville site lists the hospital as the nearest emergency center for the area.
What Police Say
Michigan State Police told reporters the suspect is a 41-year-old man and that the victim said the two knew one another. "The stabbing appears to be an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to others," state police said in a statement, according to MLive.
