Taichi Bubble Tea has officially landed on Lavista Road in Tucker, kicking off its arrival this month with a full-on neighborhood party that blended bubble tea, tai chi and a traditional lion dance. The bright, fast-casual shop serves customizable milk and fruit teas alongside ramen, poke bowls and sushi burritos, giving students, families and office workers a new spot to grab everything from a quick drink to a full meal. Families and curious first-timers lined up during the festivities, turning the opening into a warm, very Tucker-style welcome.
According to Rough Draft Atlanta, residents and city leaders gathered on June 24 for the official ribbon cutting at the new location. The report notes that the ceremony featured a tai chi demonstration and a lion dance by performers from the Chien Hong School of Kung Fu, alongside plenty of bubble tea and bites. As Chien Hong explains, lion dances are a traditional pick for grand openings, believed to usher in good luck and clear away negative spirits.
Mayor Anne Lerner told Rough Draft Atlanta, “I walked in this place and I just got this sense of energy and renewal. It’s beautiful, you have to come see it.” City council members Virginia Rece and Cara Schroeder were among the officials on hand for the celebration, adding a bit of City Hall star power to the boba scene.
What Taichi Brings To Tucker
Taichi launched in 2015 and now lists more than 50 locations across the United States, presenting itself as a bubble-tea-and-bites concept that pairs drinks with ramen and poke bowls, according to Taichi Bubble Tea's website. The company already operates Georgia shops in Marietta, Decatur and Peachtree Corners, so the Tucker outpost slots into a small but growing metro Atlanta footprint. The chain emphasizes quick service, make-it-your-way drinks and an all-day menu that can handle both snack runs and sit-down meals.
Where And When To Visit
The Tucker Taichi is listed at 4020 Lavista Road in the Briarcliff-LaVista shopping area. Local business details show hours as Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday until 10:30 p.m., per Roadtrippers. A soft-opening review from early June on the same listing described the space as roomy and clean, suggesting the shop has already started building repeat business while it settles into its regular rhythm.
For Tucker, Taichi adds another quick-casual player to a growing lineup of Asian and boba-focused spots in the area. Expect some lines on weekends while word continues to spread, and check posted hours before heading over for your next bubble tea fix.
