
A midday meal on Houston’s Main Street reportedly turned violent when a man grabbed a diner’s belongings and punched them before bolting out of the restaurant, and now robbery detectives want the public’s help to track him down.
The robbery happened in the 9300 block of Main Street around 2 p.m. on May 6, according to investigators. Houston police say the suspect took property straight from the complainant’s hands, then struck the victim and ran off on foot. Surveillance stills released by authorities show a man in dark clothing, carrying a backpack and sporting facial hair.
Crime Stoppers says it may offer up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

What investigators say
The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division logged the case as Houston PD #581172-26 and says the incident went down at about 2:00 p.m. on May 6, when the suspect snatched the property from the complainant and struck them before running away, according to Houston Police Robbery. Detectives shared the wanted notice along with the surveillance stills on the division’s social account to widen the search.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area or who has doorbell or security-camera footage from the 9300 block of Main Street around 2 p.m. on May 6 to check for images of the suspect.
