Police say the man was inside a car parked at the complex when he was shot, according to ABC13 Houston. He managed to drive off the property before crashing across the street, where he was later found and pronounced dead. Investigators have not released a description of a suspect, and the station reports the case remains under active investigation.

Officers are reviewing surveillance video from the area in hopes of identifying who opened fire and what led up to the shooting, per the same report. No motive has been disclosed, and it is not yet clear whether cameras from nearby buildings captured the gunman or a getaway vehicle.
