A 30-year-old man was slashed in the face outside a Third Avenue restaurant in Mott Haven early Thursday, leaving him with a non-life-threatening wound to the left side of his face and another Bronx stabbing case under police investigation. The attack happened around midnight near 260 Third Avenue, and the victim was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where police say he is expected to be OK.
As reported by News12 New York, citizen video from the scene shows officers and EMS loading the man onto a stretcher and into an ambulance at about 12 a.m. The station reports that no arrests have been made, detectives are actively investigating, and officials have not released any suspect description.
Part of a String of Recent Slashings in the Bronx
This latest incident comes amid a run of similar slashings around the borough in recent weeks, including a late-night scalpel assault at the East 149th Street 6-train station earlier this month, as detailed in a late-night scalpel slashing on the 6 train in Mott Haven. Local coverage has followed several face-slashing cases that sent victims to the hospital and led to stepped-up patrols in parts of the Bronx.
Police Response and Where the Victim Was Taken
NYPD officers and EMS stayed on the scene while detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance video, according to News12 New York. The injured man was transported to Lincoln Medical Center, described as one of the South Bronx’s primary trauma hospitals per the city’s Health + Hospitals site. Police say the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been announced.
