A quiet early-morning stop on a Northeast El Paso street turned violent when a 58-year-old man was struck by a car while getting out of his pickup, leaving him seriously injured and the driver nowhere to be found.
The hit-and-run happened around 2:29 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, in the 4500 block of Hercules. El Paso police say the driver who hit the man took off instead of sticking around to help.
Investigators Zero In on Suspect Vehicle
According to investigators, evidence at the scene points to a gray 2019 to 2025 Volkswagen Jetta as the suspect vehicle. The car is expected to have noticeable damage on the right front bumper and the passenger-side door mirror, as reported by KFOX14.
