A late-night bout of road rage on San Antonio’s Northeast Side turned bloody on Saturday, ending with a driver stabbed in the stomach and rushed to the hospital, according to police. Officers say the man’s injuries were serious enough for treatment but are considered non-life-threatening.
What Police Say
San Antonio police say the clash unfolded around 11:17 p.m. in the 1200 block of Perrin Beitel Road. According to investigators, the victim pulled over to confront another driver, and the confrontation escalated until the man was stabbed in the stomach. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to News4SanAntonio.
Road Rage On The Northeast Side
This is not the first time tempers behind the wheel have erupted into violence in this part of town. A KSAT report documented an October 2025 incident near Perrin Beitel and Perrin Central that ended in a shooting. And a May report on a South Side stabbing detailed how that case fit into a recent string of violent incidents across the city.
City Response
The San Antonio Police Department has been leaning on hot-spot and place-based strategies to push back on violent street crime, a focus laid out in its violent-crime reduction plan. That plan cites rising levels of violent street crime and calls for targeted patrols and community partnerships to help cut down on confrontations like Saturday night’s encounter, per the San Antonio Police Department.
Investigation
Authorities have not released the identities of either the victim or the suspect, and detectives are still piecing together exactly how the roadside confrontation turned into a stabbing. Additional details were not available early Sunday; initial reporting is from News4SanAntonio.
