Rockaway Boulevard Safety Concerns
The commercial corridor along Rockaway Boulevard has been dealing with other violent incidents this year. In April, a stickup that left a worker injured prompted a citywide wanted alert, and local reporting along with business complaints has highlighted a string of robberies and assaults on the strip. The address 75-16 Rockaway Boulevard sits on that same commercial stretch. For background, see Armed Crook Snags 29 Phones and the property listing for the address on StreetEasy.
The Woodhaven shooting came as other parts of Queens were also dealing with gun violence on Sunday. A separate early-morning shooting near the Van Wyck Expressway left a man in critical condition, according to ABC7 New York. In both cases, police urged anyone with video, photos, or eyewitness information to step forward and help detectives.
As of publishing, there have been no arrests in the Rockaway Boulevard case. Detectives are asking anyone with surveillance footage or cellphone video from around the time of the shooting to contact investigators. The Crime Stoppers bulletin includes images tied to the case and again urges tipsters to call 1-800-577-TIPS or message NYPD Crime Stoppers on X to share information anonymously.
