A normally quiet stretch of the 1100 block of Oakbrook Street in Prosper turned into an active crime scene three times in one week, after a single home was hit by three separate early-morning drive-by shootings. No one inside was hurt, but neighbors are rattled, and police say the attacks were clearly targeted. After the third incident, officers arrested a 20‑year‑old woman, while two men and two vehicles tied to the shootings are still being sought. Prosper police have beefed up patrols in the area and are asking residents to comb through doorbell and home‑security footage for anything that might help crack the case.
According to Prosper police, the first burst of gunfire came around 1:30 a.m. last Thursday, when someone in a white Audi hatchback fired seven to eight handgun rounds into the house and a parked vehicle out front. Surveillance video later showed what appears to be the same Audi circling back roughly an hour later and unloading about 10 more rounds. By the time officers responded to the second round of shots that night, the shooter had already taken off, the department told FOX 4 Dallas‑Fort Worth.
The third attack came around 1:20 a.m. yesterday, when surveillance cameras captured two people walking up to the residence and at least one of them firing about 12 rounds into the home. This time, officers, working alongside the Elm Ridge Police Department, quickly set up a perimeter. They arrested 20‑year‑old Mariha Marie Bullock, who was booked into the Denton County Jail on a charge of deadly conduct, according to Dallas Express. Investigators say more charges could follow as they piece together the full scope of the shootings.
Police are still looking for two suspects described as Black males believed to be in their 20s to 30s. One is about 6 feet tall and may go by the name “Daniel.” Detectives are also trying to track down a white Audi hatchback with unknown plates and a newer‑model blue Cadillac sedan. Prosper police say they are working with neighboring agencies, including Celina and Elm Ridge, and have rolled out additional tactical resources in the neighborhood. Anyone with information or with camera footage from the relevant time frames is urged to contact the Prosper Police Department immediately, according to FOX 4 Dallas‑Fort Worth.
What the deadly conduct charge means
Under Texas law, “deadly conduct” covers reckless behavior that puts another person in imminent danger of serious bodily injury. Firing a gun in a way that could endanger people can qualify, even if no one is physically hit. Penalties depend on how the offense is committed and whether a firearm is discharged, and prosecutors can pursue more serious counts if the evidence supports it. The offense is set out in Texas Penal Code §22.05.
How neighbors can help
Investigators have asked residents to review footage from doorbell cameras, home‑security systems, and vehicle dashcams covering the windows when the shootings occurred. Any clips that show suspicious people or vehicles near Oakbrook Street could be critical to the case. Tips and videos can be submitted directly to the Prosper Police Department as detectives work to identify and locate the remaining suspects and vehicles. Authorities say there is currently no sign of a broader threat to the public, according to Dallas Express.
