Raleigh-based Opex Technologies said Monday it has acquired Dallas-based Intellys Corporation and is gearing up for a major growth push, including plans to roughly double the company’s size. The deal folds Intellys’ advisory team into Opex and stretches the firm’s national footprint out from its North Hills headquarters.
The acquisition pairs Opex’s advisory platform and proprietary AI tools, including dAIsy and OpexIQ, with Intellys’ carrier and managed-services expertise, and is backed by growth equity firm Bregal Sagemount, the companies said in a press release, as reported by Business Wire. All Intellys employees will move over to Opex as part of the integration, which the firms describe as a key step in building a scaled national technology-advisory platform.
Leaders Promise Rapid Expansion
Opex CEO Courtney Humphrey praised Intellys’ client-focused reputation and said the partnership “moves us meaningfully in that direction.” Intellys CRO Beau Hendrick called the deal “a platform and resources to deliver even greater value” to clients. Those remarks appear in a company announcement on the Opex Technologies website, which frames the move as a deliberate effort to deepen both technical expertise and geographic reach.
Hiring Push Could Reshape North Hills
The Triangle Business Journal reports that Opex is pushing to double in size following the acquisition, a rapid hiring plan that would meaningfully expand its Raleigh presence. Opex’s LinkedIn lists the firm’s current size as 11–50 employees, underscoring how big a recruiting wave it would take to hit that target.
Private Equity Is Driving Consolidation
The acquisition follows a 2025 strategic growth investment in Opex by growth equity firm Bregal Sagemount, highlighting a deliberate M&A strategy to scale advisory capabilities. That backing gives Opex access to capital and deal-making support as it searches for additional regional partners.
For Raleigh, the expansion could translate into more advisory and implementation roles clustered around North Hills, along with tighter connections between local vendors and national clients. The companies said their near-term priority is integrating Intellys’ team while maintaining existing client relationships, according to a press release distributed by Business Wire.
