A man died Monday after reportedly jumping from a highway ramp in the Rossville area of Baltimore County, shortly before 4:30 p.m. First responders rushed in and launched a rescue effort, but the individual was pronounced dead at the location where he landed.
According to The Avenue News, Maryland State Police said the incident happened on the ramp from southbound Interstate 95 at mile marker 64.4 onto eastbound I-695. The person fell into heavy brush, triggering a search-and-rescue response that drew Baltimore County first responders, state troopers, and EMS personnel. The individual has not yet been publicly identified.
Where It Happened
The I-95/I-695 exchange near Rossville is a major connector on the Baltimore Beltway, and its ramps can be steep with limited shoulders, conditions that can complicate rescue and recovery operations. Roadway descriptions and maps depict the Rossville interchange as a busy, high-speed stretch where limited sightlines and embankments can hide a person from view, making it harder for crews to locate someone in distress, according to Wikipedia.

Maryland State Police are leading the investigation and have not released identifying details as they continue their review, per The Avenue News. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact Maryland State Police or local law enforcement.
