Sacramento detectives, backed up by federal agents, hit two locations last Wednesday and say they walked away with one of the department's biggest drug hauls of the year: roughly 20 pounds of cocaine and about 51 pounds of heroin. The operation drew on the East Problem Oriented Policing (EPOP) and East Violent Crime Reduction (EVCR) units and ended with the arrest of a 37-year-old man. Investigators say the case is very much still active.

Regional Crackdown This Week
The city raid followed a separate federal-led sweep last Tuesday that targeted an alleged trafficking network in Yuba and Sutter counties and turned up nearly 30 pounds of suspected cocaine, roughly 1,000 indoor marijuana plants and five firearms, while leading to a dozen arrests, as reported by The Sacramento Bee.
In separate coverage, feds smash coke pipeline noted that officials expect follow-up actions as investigators trace the supply lines feeding the alleged network. Taken together, last week's sweeps highlight how local and federal agencies are coordinating across county lines to intercept large shipments moving through the region.
