Supreme Dumplings, the Bellevue-born Taiwanese soup-dumpling chain, has quietly set up steamers at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu. The new outpost hosted a friends-and-family preview on Friday, then rolled into a soft-opening phase over the weekend, adding a full sit-down option to the mall’s already crowded dining scene.
“We want to bring the most authentic, classic xiao long bao experience to Hawaiʻi,” owner Brandon Ting told Aloha State Daily, noting that the brand started in Bellevue, Washington. Ting said the Honolulu dining room seats about 140 people and that the group already operates multiple locations across the United States.
Where It Sits
The Ala Moana restaurant is listed at 1450 Ala Moana Blvd., Space 2500 inside the center. The chain’s locations page notes a soft opening on June 22, and according to Supreme Dumplings, the Ala Moana spot joins the company’s growing footprint across the mainland and beyond.
Menu, Prices and Hours
The Honolulu menu leans hard into hand-folded xiao long bao and Taiwanese small plates. Diners will find soup dumplings in varieties like Supreme pork, Szechuan spicy pork and shrimp-and-pork, along with premium options such as wagyu ($16) and black truffle & chicken ($19). Aloha State Daily also notes a signature XLB assortment ($20), sides including spicy pork wontons ($10) and Taiwanese chicken cold noodles ($13), plus desserts like matcha lava xiao long bao.
The outlet reports the Ala Moana hours as 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Customers can also look forward to a Hawaiʻi-exclusive golden pineapple fried rice and island-inspired cocktails as the location settles into its groove.
Part of Ala Moana's Dining Refresh
The arrival of Supreme Dumplings comes as Ala Moana Center continues a broader tenant refresh, with the mall’s owner signing new food and retail leases in a bid to boost foot traffic. Shopping Center Business reported that Brookfield/GGP has added several dining tenants and listed Supreme Dumplings among the recent signings.
Supreme Dumplings points larger parties to Yelp for bookings and recommends reservations during peak hours. Customers can check the brand’s website for updates. Expect lunch and dinner crowds during the soft-opening period, along with more local tweaks as the restaurant moves toward a full public opening.
