
A Tuesday afternoon stop at a South Philadelphia Wendy's ended in violence when a 33-year-old man was stabbed multiple times outside the fast-food spot along Columbus Boulevard. First responders treated him at the scene, then rushed him to Jefferson Hospital, and police say the suspect is still on the loose.
Philadelphia police said they were called around 1:30 p.m. to the 2100 block of South Christopher Columbus Boulevard for reports of an attack, according to 6ABC. Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from several stab wounds, and investigators told the station they believe the assailant was someone the man knew.
The stabbing happened at the Wendy's in the Columbus Commons shopping center, KYW Newsradio reported. Emergency crews from Medic 43 treated the man on the pavement before taking him to Jefferson Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Authorities also urged anyone with information to contact Philadelphia Police South Detectives, according to Daily Voice.
Investigation underway
By Tuesday evening, police said no weapon had been recovered and no arrests had been made, leaving South detectives with few immediate leads, 6ABC reported. The investigation is active and ongoing.
