A quiet night in northwest Harris County turned chaotic when a mother woke up to the sound of someone trying to force their way into her Spring-area home while her child was inside. Deputies later arrested three suspects and say they recovered stolen property at the scene in the 18800 block of Timber Spring Drive.
Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s office rushed to the home after the woman reported hearing intruders breaking in, according to Click2Houston. Investigators say they found evidence that helped them identify three suspects and recover stolen items, including a PlayStation 5, the outlet reported.
All three suspects were taken into custody and are now facing charges linked to the burglary investigation, though officials have not yet released their names, Click2Houston reported. “All three suspects were taken into custody. Great work by Constable Deputies protecting our community!” Constable Mark Herman said in a statement to the outlet.
Scene Secured, Case Still Active
Precinct 4 deputies secured the house and canvassed the surrounding area before making the arrests, and the constable’s office says the investigation is still active. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office lists a 24-hour dispatch number at 281-376-3472 for anyone with tips or information.
Legal Note
Under Texas law, burglary of a habitation is generally treated as a felony that can carry significant prison time, with the exact charge depending on what investigators determine happened. For the statutory definitions and punishment ranges, see Texas Penal Code §30.02.
