Cortez D'Angelo Dennis, 32, has been sentenced to six years in the Colorado Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a felony pimping charge in Jefferson County Court. Prosecutors say Dennis ran an online-driven commercial sex operation across the Denver metro area, and two adult women identified him as their pimp. According to court filings, one of the women told investigators she had been recruited into prostitution when she was just 14. Under the plea agreement, a second felony count of human trafficking for sexual servitude was dismissed.

According to The Denver Post, Dennis pleaded guilty on February 17, and a Jefferson County judge later imposed a six-year term to be served in the state corrections system. Court records reviewed by the outlet show the plea capped a monthslong investigation into commercial-sex advertising tied to the Denver area.

Undercover "Rodeo Rescue" operation

Per a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office press release, deputies ran an undercover operation nicknamed "Rodeo Rescue" during the National Western Stock Show in January 2025, targeting commercial-sex advertisements and working to recover potential victims. The Sheriff's Office says the sting led to the identification of Dennis and his arrest on September 10, 2025, and that two adult victims were connected with support services during the operation. "This case highlights the ongoing commitment of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to protect vulnerable individuals and dismantle human trafficking in our community," the release said.

What investigators say the records show

Investigators told reporters an undercover officer arranged a meeting with two women through an ad on the escort site Secret Hostess. That meeting took place at a home in the 1600 block of South Golden Road on January 22, 2025, according to The Denver Post. Prosecutors say other parts of Dennis' operation were traced to a house in the 4500 block of South Jebel Court in Centennial, and that a Venmo account linked to Dennis routed payments tied to that address. Both women identified Dennis as their pimp in the arrest affidavit, the report says.

Plea deal and legal outcome

The plea dismissed a second, more serious human-trafficking-for-sexual-servitude felony in exchange for Dennis' guilty plea to pimping, Yahoo reported, citing court records. Sentencing in February placed Dennis in the Colorado Department of Corrections for 6 years, as recorded in court filings.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains active and asked anyone with information to call its tip line at 303-271-5612, per the department's release. Authorities said they believe more victims may exist and urged anyone affected to contact law enforcement or victim services for support.
