A three-vehicle crash on Highway 26 Friday afternoon killed a Portland woman and led state troopers to cite a 16-year-old driver, shutting down the highway near Southeast Weber Road for roughly four hours while investigators worked the scene. According to the Oregon State Police, the collision happened at about 2:43 p.m. when a blue Subaru Impreza pulled onto the highway to head westbound and failed to yield the right of way. The driver of the Ford, 39-year-old Briande Boudreau Lybbert of Portland, was pronounced dead at the scene. The U-Haul's driver and a passenger were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and the 16-year-old girl behind the wheel of the Subaru was not hurt, according to the Oregon State Police.
Local outlet KPTV reported that the wreck happened near milepost 29.5 in Clackamas County and that traffic on Highway 26 was impacted for about four hours while troopers investigated.
