What started as a U-Haul getaway in east Naples ended with a wanted felon standing in a pond and a K-9 on the shoreline Wednesday, after deputies say a convicted felon with multiple violent-offense warrants out of Lee County tried and failed to escape.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the Fugitive Warrants Bureau spotted 41-year-old Floyd Wiley Stuck near Davis Road and Lakewood Boulevard on Wednesday morning. Deputies say he jumped into a U-Haul and took off, but stop sticks disabled the truck, which crashed near Lakewood Boulevard and Boca Ciega Drive. Stuck then bolted into a nearby pond before ultimately surrendering after a CCSO K-9 deputy and other units persuaded him to come ashore. The agency says Stuck is wanted on three warrants out of Lee County and will be booked into the Naples Jail Center before transport to Lee County to face those charges.

In a Facebook post from the same Collier County Sheriff's Office account, Sheriff Kevin Rambosk wrote, “We will not stand for violent criminals in our community,” adding that deputies will follow suspects across jurisdictional lines to hold them accountable. The post also notes that Stuck will face a Collier County fleeing-and-eluding charge in addition to the Lee County warrants.

How Deputies Tracked Him Down

The CCSO Fugitive Warrants Bureau, which focuses on suspects with active warrants and coordinates with partner agencies, conducts targeted searches and shares information with neighboring counties. In this case, the Collier County Sheriff's Office says its warrants team located Stuck and worked with the Lee County Sheriff's Office to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion.

Past Record And What’s Next

Public reporting shows Stuck has a criminal history that predates this week’s arrest. A March 2024 article from Gulf Coast News reported that prosecutors accused him of defrauding customers in Collier County in a roughly $360,000 scheme and that detectives lodged a detainer while he was serving a sentence in Maryland. Earlier coverage by CBS Baltimore documented a 2021 arrest in Maryland tied to an alleged fake explosive device.

Legal Status And Next Steps

The sheriff’s office says Stuck will be processed at the Naples Jail Center. According to the Collier County inmate search, the Naples Jail Center serves as Collier County’s primary booking facility and handles initial intake in the county. Authorities have asked anyone with tips about Stuck or related activity to contact the Fugitive Warrants Bureau.

The arrest underscores the routine cross-county cooperation that has become standard practice among Southwest Florida law enforcement. Collier deputies say the investigation remains active and that more details will be released as they are cleared for publication.
