U.S. Marshals and Hagerstown police have arrested 20‑year‑old Nadeem Ameen Davis in Baltimore in connection with a Memorial Day weekend shooting in Hagerstown that left Mitchell Omar Reddick dead. Davis was picked up on Thursday, July 16, interviewed by Hagerstown detectives, and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he is being held on a first‑degree murder charge, authorities said.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, working alongside the Hagerstown Police Warrant Task Force, took Davis into custody without incident around 10:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of East Madison Street in Baltimore, according to DC News Now. After his arrest, investigators transported him to the Hagerstown Police Department for questioning before booking him into the Washington County Detention Center.
Hagerstown officers were first called to the 1000 block of Security Road around 10 p.m. on May 25 after reports of gunfire. An adult male victim was taken to Meritus Medical Center and later pronounced dead, according to WFMD. Police later identified the victim as Mitchell Omar Reddick; investigators told Tri‑State Alert.
How law enforcement found him
Officials said Davis’s arrest capped a coordinated fugitive operation that brought together the U.S. Marshals’ Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and Hagerstown police. The team tracked Davis to East Baltimore and took him into custody without incident. The U.S. Marshals Service describes these task‑force operations as a routine part of its regional work with local partners to locate wanted suspects and remove violent offenders from the streets, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Charges and what comes next
Davis was questioned by Hagerstown detectives and is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on a charge of first‑degree murder, authorities said. A first‑degree murder conviction in Maryland can carry a sentence of life imprisonment under state law, according to the Maryland Legal Services Authority.
Hagerstown police are asking anyone with information about the May 25 shooting, or video that could assist the case, to contact department detectives, local reports said. The investigation remains active, and officials are urging anyone with tips to come forward and speak with investigators.
