The border community of Page, Arizona, is reeling after a man and a woman were found shot to death inside a home late on July 5. Officers discovered both victims in the residence and pronounced them dead at the scene.
Scene and police response
Just before midnight on July 5, the Page Police and Fire Communications Center received reports of shots fired at a home near Elm and El Camino. Officers arrived around 11:30 p.m., found the two victims inside, secured the scene and obtained a search warrant so they could begin processing the residence for evidence, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
Investigation leads to arrest
Evidence collected from the home led investigators to a person of interest, who was located and interviewed but not immediately booked. After additional search warrants were served and more evidence was reviewed, that individual was arrested the next day and booked on two counts of first‑degree murder, as reported by Arizona's Family.
Weapon seized and community safety
Investigators say they have seized the suspected weapon and that with the arrest, they do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public. Page Police credited the Coconino County Sheriff's Office for assisting with the case and said the investigation remains active, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
What authorities are not releasing
Officials have not released the identities of the victims or the suspect, and they have not commented on a possible motive. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Terry TerEick at [email protected], per Arizona's Family.
Legal context
The suspect faces two counts of first‑degree murder, which under Arizona law is a Class 1 felony and can carry a sentence of life imprisonment or death depending on prosecutorial decisions and sentencing proceedings. The classification and possible penalties are outlined in Arizona Revised Statutes §13‑1105.
Page Police initially shared information about the case on the department's Facebook page and said more details will be released as investigators continue to work with county authorities. This is a developing story, and updates are expected when formal filings, booking information or statements from the Coconino County Attorney become available.
