Cedar Point's Boardwalk Nights returns today, once again turning the park's mile-long beach and boardwalk into a nightly summer festival packed with stunts, live music and over-the-top snacks. The limited-run event continues through Aug. 16 and takes place every night except Tuesdays. Guests can roam between pop-up stages on the sand, try their luck at midway games and end the evening with a neon-lit pyrotechnic finale. Organizers say the setup is designed to keep families and late-night visitors lingering on the boardwalk long after the coasters shut down for the night.
As reported by Cleveland.com, opening night will launch with an Opening Cavalcade featuring floats, dancers and acrobatic performers, and will spotlight featured stunts such as the Harrowing High Dive Daredevil. Cleveland.com also notes that Boardwalk Nights is included with regular park admission and that each evening closes with the "Fantabulous Finale," a lights-and-pyrotechnics sendoff launched from five locations along the shoreline.
Shows and stunts
According to Cedar Point, the entertainment lineup includes a Towering Tightrope slackline act above the boardwalk, the Wheel of Destiny, Ricochet Juggling and the Bellhop Boys, along with family-friendly performers such as the Singin' SeaGals. Many of the acts are set on pop-up stages along the beach so guests can drift between performances while taking in Lake Erie sunsets.
Food, games and the nightly finale
Cleveland.com highlights a specialty menu built for grazing, including pierogi sliders, pickleback wings and a spicy fried chicken "ice scream" sandwich, along with signature Boardwalk cocktails timed for sunset. Classic midway games such as Ring a Seagull, Hi Striker and the Fascination Funway game show round out the boardwalk setup before the nightly pyrotechnic finale lights up the beach.
Plan your visit
Cedar Point recommends using the Six Flags app for showtimes, maps and directions, and notes that some resort packages bundle park tickets with late-entry perks such as after-4 p.m. admission for hotel guests. Schedules and performers can vary from night to night, so the park urges visitors to check the calendar and app for the latest lineups and any weather-related changes.
