A 77-year-old woman was cited for misdemeanor reckless driving after she crashed her vehicle into the east side of the Medina County Job and Family Services building on Northland Drive Thursday afternoon, prompting officials to close the facility for the rest of the day and all day Friday. The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. and left both the driver and people inside the building with minor scratches.
According to Cleveland.com, the vehicle struck the building at 232 Northland Drive, and Medina County Job and Family Services did not immediately respond to an inquiry about the extent of the damage or when it plans to reopen. The Medina County Board of Commissioners, however, said the vehicle broke through an exterior wall into the interior of the building, causing what officials described as substantial damage, according to WKYC. The facility was safely evacuated as county officials began evaluating the structural impact.
