Charter Communications is set to shut down its network operations center in Town and Country on Sept. 8, 2026, a move that will affect 107 employees, according to a state filing. The closure, described as permanent by a company representative, involves the facility in the Charter Commons office complex in Town and Country.
The Missouri Office of Workforce Development’s 2026 WARN log lists Charter’s Town and Country location as a “closing,” with a first layoff date of Sept. 8 and 107 affected positions, per the Missouri Office of Workforce Development. The entry was recorded on July 8.
First Alert 4 reports that the company’s notice identifies the Network Operations Center at 941 Charter Commons Drive and says a Charter representative characterized the shutdown as permanent. The outlet notes the announcement came in compliance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
What the WARN notice means
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide at least 60 days’ written notice before a plant closing or mass layoff, and to notify affected workers, the state dislocated worker unit and local elected officials, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. WARN notices are designed to trigger rapid-response and workforce services that can help displaced employees with job searches and training.
Local impact and next steps
The state’s WARN page also lists contacts and local job centers available to assist affected staff, with the Missouri Office of Workforce Development coordinating rapid-response services for cases on its calendar, per the Missouri Office of Workforce Development. Town and Country officials and workforce agencies are expected to track follow-up details as the Sept. 8 closure date approaches.
We will update this story if Charter or local authorities release additional information.
