
A quiet Denver Harbor block woke up to crime scene tape early Thursday after a 64-year-old man was found shot to death outside a home, according to Houston police. Officers discovered the man by his vehicle in the driveway, and Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Neighbors said they heard some kind of disturbance in the driveway, then a burst of gunfire, and officials reported that a male suspect was seen running off before officers arrived.
HPD: Call Comes In Just After 5 A.M.
Patrol officers with HPD were sent to 6915 Boyce Street at about 5:20 a.m., where they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to City of Houston. The city’s release lists incident number 090225926 and names HPD Homicide Detectives J. Wallschlaeger and M. Althaus as the investigators on the case.
Neighbors Report Late-Night Trouble, Then Gunfire
Several neighbors told reporters they heard a commotion in the driveway before the shots rang out, followed by what sounded like multiple gunshots. Officials say a male was spotted fleeing the scene before officers got there, according to FOX 26 Houston. The home sits near I-10 and Lanthrop Street, a stretch that is usually more about early commuters than homicide investigations.
Detectives Seeking Tips, Video From Neighbors
Investigators are asking anyone in the area to check surveillance, doorbell, or dash-cam footage for anything suspicious around the time of the shooting.
