
A 23-year-old man was shot Wednesday evening near 11th Street and Locust Street in Milwaukee and was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to police. The Milwaukee Police Department said the shooting happened at about 6:30 p.m. The circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain under investigation, and no arrests have been reported.

According to FOX6 Milwaukee, police confirmed the victim showed up at a local hospital after the shooting. Summer Patrols And Gun-Violence Efforts
The shooting occurred as the Milwaukee Police Department continues its annual Operation Summer Guardian, a summer initiative that increases patrols and community outreach in neighborhoods identified as gun-violence hot spots. MPD launched this year’s deployment in May, with operations scheduled to run through September, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.
