A multi-alarm fire tore through the H-E-B Alliance grocery store on Heritage Trace Parkway in north Fort Worth yesterday afternoon, pulling in a heavy firefighting response as smoke hung over the Alliance Town Center well into the evening. Crews stayed on scene for hours, and by late Thursday, officials still had not said how badly the store was damaged or whether anyone had been hurt.
The Fort Worth Fire Department reported that the blaze was contained by about 8:30 p.m., but the cause of the fire and a detailed damage assessment had not yet been released, according to FOX 4. The station cited the Fort Worth Fire Department as its source for the update.
Store background and size
The Alliance location, H-E-B's first full-size Fort Worth store, opened in April 2024. According to H-E-B's newsroom, the 125,000-square-foot supermarket includes a True Texas BBQ restaurant, a full pharmacy with a drive-thru, and a range of other customer amenities.
Where it happened
City documents list H-E-B Alliance at 3451 Heritage Trace Parkway in the Alliance Town Center, matching the address given by the company and emergency crews. Fort Worth city records show H-E-B Alliance on municipal facility lists.
Regional context
The Alliance store sits in a busy and still-growing retail hub, part of H-E-B's rapid expansion across North Texas. The grocer has also announced another North Texas opening later this month, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which has been tracking the chain's new locations around the Metroplex.
As of late Thursday, officials had not released information about possible injuries, estimates of the damage, or any timeline for reopening the store. Fire investigators have not yet announced what sparked the blaze, and both city officials and H-E-B are expected to share more details as they become available.
