
Overnight gunfire rattled the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood early Tuesday, leaving a 20-year-old man shot on South Monroe Street and late-night passersby scrambling for cover.
Police say officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of South Monroe Street and found a 20-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.
According to WCBM, detectives have been canvassing the area, checking for witnesses and trying to pinpoint exactly where the shots came from and whether anyone else was hurt.

Southwest District shooting detectives are asking anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward. Investigators are especially interested in home-security or dash-cam video from around the time of the shooting on South Monroe Street.
