Share Cheesebar, the Pleasant Ridge cheese shop run by Emily Frank, will close for good on July 27, wrapping up nine years as one of the neighborhood’s go-to spots for all things curd. Frank announced the decision on social media as the business marked its ninth anniversary, saying she is ready to step back, spend more time with family, travel, and take on personal projects. The shop, which grew out of Frank’s C’est Cheese food truck, built its reputation on cheese boards, classes and fondue nights that turned the space into a regular neighborhood hangout.

Owner's announcement

As reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer, Frank shared on Facebook that “after 9 wonderful years, it’s time for us to close the chapter on Share Cheesebar.” She added that she would like to retire and focus on spending "more time with the hubs, traveling, snuggles with gary the cat, volunteering and playing mahjong.” The Enquirer notes she did not offer a more specific reason for the closure.

Boards and final orders

According to Frank’s website, all of her cheese boards will stay available for online purchase at Share Cheesebar until they sell out, and remaining gift cards can be used for boards only. The business is currently preparing orders out of The Coffee Exchange of Pleasant Ridge, and the site lists pickup hours and instructions for customers collecting their final orders. Anyone hoping for a last board is encouraged to order early, since inventory is limited as operations wind down.

From food truck to neighborhood fixture

Frank built Share out of her C’est Cheese food truck before taking the leap to a brick-and-mortar in Pleasant Ridge in the late 2010s, according to background reporting. WCPO covered her plans to move from the truck into a storefront at Ridge and Montgomery, and CityBeat recently highlighted the shop’s cheese vending machine and its move inside The Coffee Exchange. Over the years, Share’s classes, fondue nights and community events helped cement it as a local fixture.

Owner thanks neighborhood

Frank told the Cincinnati Enquirer she is “endlessly grateful to our loyal customers, friends, and neighbors who supported me every step of the way.” She urged customers to keep an eye on the shop’s website for details on ordering and using gift cards as the business winds down.

Final pickups and where to go

Share’s last day of business will be July 27. Customers can place orders for boards at Share Cheesebar's site and pick them up at The Coffee Exchange at 6041 Montgomery Road while supplies last. For questions about orders or gift cards, the website includes contact information and an email address for owner Emily Frank.
