A roadside argument at a quiet Frederick County park ended in a machete attack and a felony arrest, according to deputies, after a dispute between two drivers turned violent at Loy's Station Park.
The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says the confrontation unfolded in the park's parking area on the evening of July 15. Two drivers pulled into a lot near the covered bridge; things escalated, and a large-bladed weapon was used. One man suffered serious injuries, was taken to a nearby hospital, and was later released.
Deputies were called shortly before 6:30 p.m. to the 13500 block of Old Frederick Road for a reported stabbing, according to Daily Voice. The outlet identifies the suspect as 36-year-old Michael Anthony Faya and reports that he and the victim had pulled into a parking area near Loy's Station Park before the altercation. First responders found the victim with what were described as “serious injuries consistent with an assault,” the report says.

It is usually the kind of place families go for photos and picnics, not police tape.
Arrest and Charges
Authorities identified the suspect as Faya of Walkersville. He was arrested at a home in the 10700 block of Dublin Road and taken into custody without incident, according to Daily Voice. The outlet reports that Faya has been charged with first-degree assault and that the victim, after treatment at a hospital, was released.
